Paige is a marriage counselor. However, she is having problems of her own. Dave her husband, has been suspended from work. Dave will not go into the how or why. Paige is quiet concerned because Dave just isn't himself.

With all this going on in her life, after some twenty years her sister Sloane shows up. Sloane had a lot of her own problems. At one point in her life, she was a drug addict. No matter what the family tries to do to help her, nothing worked. So Sloane just disappeared until now.

While Paige is trying to figure out what the reason is behind Dave's suspension, she is also dealing with getting to know Sloane again. Paige has hired Percy, a Private Investigator to help her try and get all the information she can on why Dave was suspended.

L. Alison Heller writes a very interesting story. L. Allison Heller combines the past and the present in her characters story lines. I was not confused in trying to understand what had happened in the past that caused so many problems in their future.

I would not say that THE NEVER NEVER SISTERS has a cliff hanging end, but a new beginning for several of the characters.
