People are getting sick and fish are dying in Glen Lake on the Washington state/Canadian border. Biologist Dr. Tessa Cleary is called in to find the source of this toxin in order to avert a major catastrophe in this Northwest resort area. Border Patrol Agent Jeff Scott is assigned to take Tessa out on the water to collect samples. They stop to investigate a strange dark liquid runoff on the shore, and someone begins firing shots at them. Unable to return to their boat, they head for the forest and follow the liquid runoff deep into the woods. Trying to make their way out of the forest to the road, Tessa and Jeff stumble upon a huge marijuana farm. Suddenly they are surrounded by men with guns, taken captive and transported to a compound. Can Tessa and Jeff escape and get back to civilization? Is the poisoning of this lake an act of terrorism, or is it something else entirely?
DANGER AT THE BORDER by Teri Reed is an inspirational romantic tale of suspense that asks the question, "How strong is your faith?" As Tessa and Jeff move through the woods trying to find a road back to the state park, they become well acquainted, asking lots of personal questions of each other. They keep talking in an effort to make enough noise to ward off the many wild animals roaming the forest. Jeff has a strong faith in God to see them through this danger. Tessa hasn't thought much about God since her childhood years. When they find themselves in grave danger, Tessa questions the strength of Jeff's faith, while he begins to question it himself. There's a romantic spark between the two characters that neither wants to act upon. Both characters are strong and intense as they make their way through this adventure. Sometimes it's easy to see shortcomings in others before you see them in yourself. Teri Reed begins a new Northern Borders series with this dynamic tale.
