Romance Contemporary

STRANDED WITH A BILLIONAIRE is Book one in Jessica Clare's Billionaire Boys Club series. I love books with a "stranded together" theme. Billionaire Logan Hawkings and waitress Bronte Dawson would probably not have gotten together if not for being stuck in an elevator together. Living through a hurricane and being in survival mode also adds to the intensity and excitement. In addition to the stranded theme, Bronte struggles with the difference in background and wealth that exists between Logan and herself. The biggest obstacle to Bronte and Logan being happy together is what's in their minds.

The first part of STRANDED WITH A BILLIONAIRE, when Logan and Bronte are trapped together because of the storm, is very sexy and riveting. Jessica Clare does a great job of establishing the two main characters, making them come alive, and creating a wonderful chemistry between them. Trust is an issue for them right away after getting back to civilization. It's understandable that Logan didn't want to immediately reveal himself as being a rich man right away, given his history. However, it's just as understandable why Bronte feels somewhat betrayed and hurt. They are both sympathetic characters in their own ways. In spite of these conflicts that the two create for themselves, I never felt bogged down by the drama.

One thing I thought was great about STRANDED WITH A BILLIONAIRE is that both Logan and Bronte go through a process and grow as individuals. Bronte realizes that Logan is not the only one with issues that need to be addressed and worked on. They are both strong characters, but both have flaws and insecurities. I like when Logan tries to court Bronte as an average guy would and go on regular dates. I like that he lets down his guard and confides in her. It's that emotional intimacy that draws Bronte back to him and is more valuable to her than any present he could give her.

STRANDED WITH A BILLIONAIRE is a fun and super sexy romance with great characters! I loved the supporting characters like Gretchen, Audrey, and Logan's billionaire buddies. I look forward to reading about the other billionaires in future books.

SUMMARY

The Billionaire Boys Club is a secret society of six men who are incredibly wealthy—but not always so successful when it comes to love… With a visit to a recent business acquisition—a private island resort in the Bahamas—billionaire Logan Hawkings has a chance to mend his recently broken heart. But a hurricane, a misplaced passport, and a stalled elevator lead to an encounter with an unusual woman. Brontë Dawson is down-to-earth, incredibly sensual, and even quotes Plato. She also thinks Logan is simply the hotel’s domineering yet sexy manager. And after several steamy island nights in his arms, Brontë’s ready to give her heart—and her body—to the man in charge. There’s just more to Logan than he’s told her…a billion times more.
