Romance Suspense

Lyssa Cafferty has been in the Witness Protection Program for 2 years, since her fiancé was murdered. She is the only one to survive the serial killer named Archimedes, but she has been looking over her shoulder ever since. When one day, she comes back to her apartment and finds her handler dead, she knows her tormentor has found her. And she grabs the essentials and flees. She then calls the only man who could help her: Noah Bradford; he knew Lyssa's fiancé, Jack, and he has the tools to protect Lyssa. Noah has always been secretly in love with Lyssa, but bowed out when Jack started going out with Lyssa. Lyssa has a huge secret she will not even tell Noah. Since she has been hiding, she has learned that no one is to be trusted, not even him. She does not want people hurt because Andromedes wants to kill her, but Noah tells her that the psychopath does not want to kill her: Andromedes wants Lyssa. Yet the murderer is on a rampage and hitting closer and closer to home. SECRET OBSESSION is an absolutely fantastic book! Ms. Perini has crafted a story that hits the perfect balance between suspense and romance, relying heavily on the suspense with romantic elements that happen at the right time and for the right reasons.

Lyssa is a wonderful heroine: she has been haunted and hunted by a killer for 2 years. She is scared, but she is relentless: she will do anything to avenge her fiancé and protect her secret, even at the cost of her own life. She is not a superwoman, but someone who refuses to be a victim and will do whatever is necessary to stop the madness. Noah is perfectly suited to his investigative work; he's a geek and the author presents a realistic view of electric surveillance and all things hi-tech. All the characters are multidimensional and believable, even the dastardly villain; the story is tight, well written, and fast-paced.

With SECRET OBSESSION, Robin Perini proves she can stand proudly alongside giants of the genre, such as Robert Ludlum and Ken Follett.

SUMMARY

HE DIDN'T KNOW WHICH WAS HARDER: NOT FALLING FOR A WOMAN WHO WAS OFF-LIMITS, OR PROTECTING HER FROM A MADMAN.

Scarred from the brutal murder of her flaneé, former UN translator Lyssa Cafferty sleeps with one eye open. Now a serial killer is determined to finish what he started-and she's his next target. Desperate to survive, Lyssa seeks protection from the one man with knowledge of her past.

Noah Bradford, a cunning ex-marine, vows to protect Lyssa—along with the secret she keeps from her watchful predator. It soon becomes evident that Noah's growing attraction for Lyssa could distract him from his mission, but only together can they crack the cryptic messages of a killer. With time running out, it's uncertain who will come out unharmed—or alive.
