Cam and Annie are asked to plan a fund raiser for a local senatorial candidate. If it hadn't been for Annie's father asking them to take this one, they both would have turned it down.

They've planned a murder mystery themed gala with an auction deciding who plays the "victim". Cam and Annie both have their hands full keeping all the egos of the guests in check. When they find one of the guests dead next to a port of chrysanthemums, the whole thing takes a bizarre twist.

Derek Windermere was a financial tycoon who was trying to get into politics. He had purchased an entire table. Annie's father wasn't a fan of his but Annie's father has disappeared. His disappearance at the same time as the murder has the police looking seriously at him as a suspect.

Annie begs Cam to help her find her father and clear his name. With Annie's stepmother behaving strangely and some of the other political figures with motives, the whole investigation will follow a series of small clues which Cam and Rob will have to decipher.

The Garden Society Mysteries are becoming increasingly complex and interesting. KEEPING MUM was one of the best so far.
