THE PROMISE is the fifth book in the Thunder Point series. Dr. Scott is a widower with two small children who moved to Thunder Point to raise his family. He also wanted to work in a small town where he knew he was making a difference. With being the only doctor in town Scott desperately needs all the help that he can get. Peyton Lacoumette is a physicians assistant who is just coming off a bitter break up and wants a change. She was just supposed to be passing through Thunder Point headed to her parents house for a little break from the work place when fate steps in. Peyton can only commit to working for Dr. Scott for three months then she has to really buckle down and look for a more permanent job. Can Dr. Scott persuade his new PA to stay in a little town with him or will she leave and never come back?

I have been hooked on this series from book one. I love it!! Robyn Carr has a way of writing that will pull you into her own little world. It's like you feel every little thing each character she writes is going through. You never want to leave the little town with all the wonderful people. The one thing that I loved most about THE PROMISE is that we get to see all the past characters. We get to see how their lives have been since we left them in their books. While you are getting to revisit old friends it still never took away from the main story line.

When I heard that Dr. Scott was getting his own book and a chance at his own happily ever after I was a little nervous. Don't get me wrong I was already falling in love with the great doctor and was wanting to find out more about this sweet and caring man with two wonderful children. Its just that I was afraid that he would end up having this secret that would make him look bad or he would be a major push over which would make him seem weak. I was so glad with the way everything turned out. It did not disappoint in any way! THE PROMISE is Robyn Carr at her best! She puts her little magic on each and every page and gave Scott the perfect match with Peyton. I can not wait for the other books in the series to come out so that we can revisit these two. :)

SUMMARY

#1 New York Times bestselling author Robyn Carr returns to Thunder Point with an uplifting story about overcoming loss and finding unexpected love

Scott Grant has a bustling family practice in the small Oregon community of Thunder Point. The town and its people have embraced the widowed doctor and father of two, his children are thriving, and Scott knows it's time to move on from his loss. But as the town's only doctor, the dating pool is limited. That is, until a stunning physician's assistant applies for a job at his clinic.

Peyton Lacoumette considers herself entirely out of the dating scene. She's already been burned by a man with kids, and she's come to Thunder Point determined not to repeat past mistakes. When Scott offers her a job, at a much lower salary than she's used to, Peyton is surprisingly eager to accept…at least for now. She's willing to stay for a three- month trial period while she explores other options.

Scott and Peyton know the arrangement is temporary—it isn't enough time to build a real relationship, never mind anything with lasting commitment. But love can blossom faster than you think when the timing is right, and this short visit just might hold the promise of forever.
