Charley Davidson is a private investigator, and a Grim Reaper whose boyfriend and as soon as she gets around to saying yes, her fiancΓ© is the son of the Devil. So Charley's life is interesting to say the least. She has a naked dead guy riding shot gun in her jeep, a client that loses his soul in a card game, a deaf boy who sees ghosts and now someone is unleashing the Twelve Beasts of Hell who are after her. To top it all off Charley gets a little worried about her fiancΓ©, she knows she will say yes to Reyes. Reyes is the son, yes son of Satan who was sent to kill her, so sometimes Charley worries about him. Charley is a busy girl, who knew so many people need the help of her PI skills, and all the ghosts who need her Grim Reaper skills, skills she still doesn't entirely know how to use.
Darynda Jones has the same warped since of humor I do and I love this book. SIXTH GRAVE ON THE EDGE is a fast paced, humorous book full of action, dilemmas, and great characters. From the beginning with the much endowed old dead naked guy who won't say anything right up until the end you are engaged in the story and laughing. The only times I stopped reading was when I showed parts of the book to a friend and had him laughing too.
Darynda Jones has written a great story with SIXTH GRAVE ON THE EDGE and created strong characters that I'll keep reading as long as she keeps writing.
Sometimes I wrestle my demons. Sometimes we just snuggle. —Bumper Sticker Most girls might think twice before getting engaged to someone like Reyes Farrow—but Charley Davidson is not most girls. She’s a paranormal private eye and grim reaper-in-training who’s known to be a bit of a hell-raiser, especially after a few shots of caffeine. Her beloved Reyes may be the only begotten son of evil, but he’s dark and sultry and deeply sexy and everything Charley could hope for. Really. But when the FBI file on Reyes’ childhood happens to land into her lap, she can’t help herself: She opens it...and then the real fun begins. First, Charley finds a naked corpse riding shotgun in her car. Then, a man loses his soul in a card game. Throw in a Deaf boy who sees dead people, a woman running from mobsters, and a very suspicious Reyes, and things can’t get any worse for Charley. Unless, of course, the Twelve Beasts of Hell are unleashed…Sixth Grave on the Edge is the sixth Charley Davidson novel from bestselling author Darynda Jones
