Women's Fiction

Allie thought that she had it all. Allie loved her job as a public relations executive, a mother of two great kids and married to Wade a magazine editor. Allie is also taking a class in writing. Allie's true dream is to be a writer.

Allie had gone though a tragic episode at a young age. Her father that she adored died in a plane crash. Allie just happened to be on the same plane along with her good friend James and his mother. Not only did Allie lose her dad in the crash, but she also found out that her dad and James' mother were having an affair. James survived the crash along with Allie, but he also lost his mother in the crash.

Allie had always thought that James and she would end up together. But along comes Wade, and Allie thought she found the man of her dreams. As Allie life moves on, she realized that her life was far from being perfect. Wade has a habit of cheating on her.

By a strange encounter, Allie meets women named Jackie. Jackie has been wronged by several men in her life. Little did Allie know that Jackie was one of the women that Wade had cheated with. Jackie wants Allie's help in bringing down several men who are laundering money in a foreign country.

Allie is having a very hard time believing what Jackie is telling her. Allie is going though too much in her life right now. James is still a good friend after all they have been though. James seems to be the only one that Allie can talk to about what is going on in her life.

Allie is trying very hard not to believe what Jackie is telling her, but after looking though papers in Wade's office, the puzzle seems to be coming together. Did he really do everything that Jackie is saying. Allie's Idea of Him is slowing changing.

Holly Peterson's books are great reads. Holly's book made me think of some of the men who have in the past caused me pain. Almost every woman has probably has gone through something like this in their lives. I feel by reading THE IDEA OF HIM, it does make women really think about their past and if they could do what Allie did to get her revenge.

I really feel that THE IDEA OF HIM is a good summer read, while relaxing on the beach or just sitting in your own back yard.

SUMMARY

From the New York Times bestselling author of The Manny—a vibrant novel of love, life lessons, and learning to trust yourself

Allie Crawford has the life she always dreamed of—she's number two at a high-profile P.R. firm; she has two kids she adores; and her husband is a blend of handsome and heroic. Wade is everything she thought a man was supposed to be—he's running a successful newsmagazine and, best of all, he provides the stable yet exciting New York City life Allie believes she needs in order to feel secure and happy.

But when Allie finds Wade locked in their laundry room with a stunning blonde in snakeskin sandals, a scandal ensues that flips her life on its head. And when the woman wants to befriend Allie, an old flame calls, and a new guy gets a little too close for comfort, she starts to think her marriage is more of a facade than something real. Maybe she's fallen in love not with Wade—but with the idea of him.

Captivating and seductive, told in the whip-smart voice of a woman who is working hard to keep her parenting and career on track, The Idea of Him is a novel of conspiracy, intrigue, and intense passion—and discovering your greatest strength through your deepest fears.
