Katrina Erickson, once a successful television news broadcaster, is the only surviving victim of a horrific serial killer known as The Butcher. The two of them clash pretty badly at first but, eventually; she reluctantly agrees to go with him as long as he can arrange for Smokey Joe to have good care.
Together, the two of them work to catch this monster while an attraction grows stronger between them each day. The problem is that these are both very damaged people that are seeking to put their own demons behind them. Will what they feel for each be enough to stay safe from a murderous serial killer as well as give them a new life? The serial killer is closer than anyone knows and is determined to make Kate pay for escaping him the first time around. However, Hayden is just as determined to keep Kate safe and will do whatever it takes.
The characters in THE BROKEN are wonderfully three dimensional. They practically leap off the page and stand in your living room. As I read, I kept thinking what a terrific movie it would make. That's how great THE BROKEN is!
