Emrys isn't too excited about her new assignment to guard the crown prince, Richard, but as a Faery sworn to Queen Mab, she knows it is her duty. As she watches over him, something ignites between them that Emrys was not prepared for. When a threat from her world wants to obliterate the entire royal line, Emrys has to decide how far she will go to protect the person she has grown to love.

ALL THAT GLOWS by Ryan Graudin is an action-filled story with a touching romance. The world Graudin creates full of hidden Faeries, dangerous Banshees, and magical royal blood is exciting and consuming. I love the touches of Arthurian legend throughout that give it a little something extra. The setting of London fits the story wonderfully and makes an excellent backdrop to all the magical adventures.

The love story between Emrys and Richard is adorable and heart-warming with just the right amount of tragic. Emrys is strong and brave, and she never makes herself a slave to her emotions. She definitely gives into them sometimes, but it never feels too reckless, just full of the intriguing power love can sometimes sway people with. When it comes to facing the choice between her powers and immortality, she doesn't jump to one side automatically. When it comes to Richard, he loves very powerfully with so much care. His character development is amazing to see as he matures and learns to handle responsibility. Together, they have plenty of sweet moments to make you believe in them as a couple and want what's best for them.

Overall, I really love ALL THAT GLOWS. Ryan Graudin tells a great story, and I can't wait to see what she writes next. For people who enjoy Julie Kagawa and Aprilynne Pike, I would highly recommend this original and beautiful spin on the Fae.
