Kari just ran out of her wedding. Why you might ask, well
Kari realized that Greg really didn't love her. Greg only
loves her dad's money and he is just like her dad. Kari
knew that there had to be more for her than leaving her
dad's
house to move into Greg's.
Kari hitches up her dress, jumps into her car and just
starts driving. Kari winds up in a small town called
Rainbow Valley. Kari didn't quite arrive the way she wanted
to. It was late, raining and she ran off the road to avoid
hitting a deer. Not knowing what else to do, she jumps out
of the car and starts walking.
Marc has lived in Rainbow Valley his whole life. His family
has always owned the winery. Marc has given up everything
in his life. He was a teenage dad; his father has died
leaving behind two youn children. Marc raised his
daughter on his own, as her mother realized she didn't want
to be tied down. Marc has been waiting for his daughter
Angela to go away to college, and for his brother Daniel to
come home and run the winery for a few years so he can go
off on his motorcycle and be free.
Little does Marc know when he opens his door that night that
Kari would be standing there in a soaked wedding dress.
Marc's whole life changes that night. At first they both
try to stay away from each other. Marc doesn't want to get
involved with any one, he just wants to harvest the grapes
and be on his way.
Kari just wants to get her car fixed and continue on to a
new life. Kari's plans go down the drain when she finds out
that her dad has cut her off from all of her money. As much
as they try, they soon find out that they do care about
each other. Marc keeps telling her that he is leaving so
this will just be a temporary relationship.
One thing leads to another and soon Marc realizes that BABY,
IT'S YOU and he wants to stay and continue to manage the
winery.
Let me say that Jane Graves's story hit me in several
different ways. In the book she mentions the Rainbow
Bridge. The rainbow bridge is where pets go after they die.
They wait there until their owner comes to take them up to
heaven. I had to put my dog Max down about two months ago.
I received a card from the Vet with the poem about the
Rainbow Bridge. So I did know the tale behind it.
Jane Graves writes about small towns like she has lived in
one. Her style is
the kind that I have always enjoyed. It starts to get you
hooked from start to finish. Jane has other books
from the Rainbow Valley series, I can't wait to buy
and read
them. BABY, IT'S YOU is a very good book, and I would
recommend if you are into
romance.
With only the wedding dress on her back and her honeymoon luggage in the car, Kari Worthington is running away. Determined to put her controlling father, her rigidly structured life, and the uptight groom she left at the altar in her rearview mirror, she escapes to the Texas Hill country . . . and lands on a tall, dark, and gorgeous winery owner's doorstep. All she needs is a job and a place to live until she can get back on her feet. So why is she fantasizing about losing herself in his powerful arms? For Marc Cordero, freedom is so close he can taste it. He's devoted his life to managing the family business and being a single dad. Now with his daughter away at college and his brother taking over the winery, Marc is ready to hop on his Harley for parts unknown-until a runaway bride bursts onto the scene. Free-spirited and tantalizingly sexy, Kari excites him like no other woman has before. But when irresistible passion turns into something more, will Marc give up his future to take a chance on love?
