Romance Suspense | Romance Paranormal

Katrina Haynes has settled nicely into a quiet life high up in the mountains of Stone Gorge, Washington. Wanting to shut herself off to a cruel world and people that considered her weird, Kat lives a mostly routine and safe life with her dog Karma by her side. When Karma wanders off on her morning walk, Kat is shocked to find a half- naked and wounded man laying in the snow. Unable to resist her nature, she decides to help the wounded stranger and brings him into the safety of her home. Katrina is overwhelmed by the sheer size and strength of her patient, yet she cannot help but be drawn to him despite his many unconventional ways. Going against all rational thought, she allows herself to be drawn into a new mysterious world and into the arms of a man that even she could not have imagined in her wildest dreams.

Once again free from capture, Ahnvil never expected to escape with the amulet and then crash land on the side of a mountain. Badly injured, he is discovered by a delicate beauty that comes to his aid as he is desperate to not get caught out in the sunlight. He is a gargoyle far from his life force, his touch stone, and the threat of completely turning to stone forever forces him to accept the help of this small female. His savior soon piques his interest, and he is drawn to everything about her despite all the warnings against pursuing a human. When the alluring but slightly nosy female puts on the amulet, he knows that he will not be leaving Stone Gorge without her. A made protector, he is forced to convince Kat to leave the safety of the world she knows in order to find a way to free her of the amulet's black magic. With Kat's help, they make it back to his world, but now that he has her there, he must do everything in his power to convince her to stay.

FORGED, the fourth of The World of Nightwalkers series, is a gem of a book! Kudos to an author that can bring gargoyles into this genre and make them just so SEXY! It is nice to read about a less-than-perfect heroine and in the end, Katrina and Ahnvil are really perfect for one another. Avid fans of Jacquelyne Frank books will be thrilled to know that a popular Nightwalker couple, Bella and Jacob, get major page time in this story. The Nightwalker worlds promise to overlap as the prophecy is revisited in FORGED, hinting to readers that there will be much more to come. I am looking forward to seeing past favorites in future books as the storyline blazes forward. FORGED is a fabulous addition to an already great series!

SUMMARY

From New York Times bestselling author Jacquelyn Frank comes a seductive new paranormal romance set in the World of the Nightwalkers, as a battle-scarred bodyguard and a sensitive beauty risk their livesโ€”and their heartsโ€”in the face of evil. When Katrina Haynes discovers a large man lying wounded in the snow, she fears he is at deathโ€™s door. But as Kat tends to his injuries, she quickly realizes that theyโ€™re the least of her worries. With an irresistible Scottish brogue and a strange ability to harden his chiseled body like a statue, the stranger awakens a desire she is unable to resistโ€”and a fascination about the intriguing world he exists in. As a proud Gargoyle, Ahnvil must safeguard the Nightwalker to whom heโ€™s sworn fealty. But as this bewitching woman nurses him back to health, arousing an almost uncontrollable hunger within him, he is possessed with the fierce impulse to protect her as well. And he will have to shield herโ€”for by coming to his rescue, Kat has placed herself in the middle of a supernatural war . . . and exposed herself to dark, powerful magic. As human and Gargoyle forge an unbreakable bond, Kat will discover that despite his intimidating strength and size, one thing Ahnvil does not possess is a heart of stone.
