ABDUCTED BY A PRINCE is Book 3 in Olivia Drake's Cinderella Sisterhood series. This is the first book I've read by Olivia Drake, but I enjoyed it a lot. There are some parallels in this story and some unconventional heroes and villains. Damien Burke may be known as the Demon Prince, and he does kidnap a fair maiden in ABDUCTED BY A PRINCE, but he is actually the good guy in this story.

Ellie Stratham and Damien Burke meet under inauspicious circumstances. He kidnaps her, thinking she's her cousin, in order to ransom something that rightfully belongs to him. The kidnapping is a turning point in Ellie's life and turns out to be the best thing that ever happened to her. I normally don't enjoy stories with a Cinderella theme. I don't like vicariously enduring the heroine's suffering. However, I like that Ellie wasn't with her odious family long before being swept away by the very dashing Demon Prince.

I love that Ellie and Damien have so much in common. Ellie lost her parents at a young age before relying on the charity of her uncle and his family. Damien was raised by Mrs. Mims and never knew his real parents. Neither of them knew a traditional family life. Ellie's fairy tales involving Prince Ratworth made a nice connection between her, Damien's past, and the future with Lily. The hero and heroine of ABDUCTED BY A PRINCE are both such complex characters and that only adds to the romance. Damien is a multi-faceted hero: sexy and slightly dangerous, intelligent, ruthless when dealing with his enemies but kind to those he cares about, skilled at seduction but honorable at the same time. I fell for him when he started to fall for Ellie for all the right reasons. He is impressed with her skills as an author and illustrator, her strength of spirit, as well as her looks. I like that he takes responsibility for landing Ellie in a difficult situation -- it shows he's capable of considering others and not just his own desires.

ABDUCTED BY A PRINCE is a sexy and sweet romance between two very complex characters. The supporting characters add depth to the story. Walt makes for a perfect weasel of a villain, Lady Milford is an interesting character playing cupid, and Lily is a sweetie and was a great way to create a stronger bond between Damien and Ellie. I look forward to the next book in Cinderella Sisterhood series and other books by Olivia Drake.
