Josephine Malone has recently lost her grandmother, Lydia.
In Lydia's will lies something that Josie would never have
expected. Along with some valuable objects, there is one
thing that confuses her as she knows nothing about the man
involved in Lydia's life until now.
Retired boxer and now strip club owner, Jake Spear is
exactly the kind of man that Lydia wanted to have
watching over Josie. As a last wish, Lydia asks Jake to take
care of Josie and watch over her. Of course, Josie is
completely against this idea. For one, she hadn't known Jake
even existed in her grandmother's life, and why would she
allow anyone into her life who could potentially hurt her
again? Secondly, Josie is a classy, self-efficient woman and
doesn't need anyone to watch out for her. However, Jake
Spear is a loyal alpha, as all of Kristen Ashley's heroes
are, and he will stand by his word to protect Josie, no
matter the costs.
Kristen Ashley's first foray into the Magdalene
series is beautifully heartwarming and exhilarating.
Brimming with sexual tension and passion, THE WILL is the
kind of book that will sweep you off your feet and have you
thinking about it for days after.
The romance between Jake and Josie is possibly one of the
best Ashley has written. Ashley takes her time with this
one, showing the ins and outs of a blooming relationship.
Since grief is such a heavy burden on both Jake and Josie in
the beginning of the book, the romance really needed some
time to develop for it to be believable. Through the course
of this story, I found Jake and Josie's love to be healing,
mending that broken soul and repairing it with a greater
love. It's utterly breathtaking.
THE WILL is an enticing blend of Ashley's old and new style,
which I find to be completely addicting. No other author's
stories will burrow into your heart like Kristen Ashley's
can.
Early in her life, Josephine Malone learned the hard way
that there was only one person she could love and trust: her
grandmother, Lydia Malone. Out of necessity, unconsciously
and very successfully, Josephine donned a disguise to keep
all others at bay. She led a globetrotting lifestyle on the
fringes of the fashion and music elite, but she kept herself
distant.
While Josephine was trotting the globe, retired boxer Jake
Spear was living in the same small town as Lydia. There was
nothing disguised about Jake. Including the fact he made a
habit of making very bad decisions about who to give his love.
But for Josephine and Jake, there was one person who adored
them. One person who knew how to lead them to happiness. And
one person who was intent on doing it.
Even if she had to do it as her final wish on this earth.
