Max Westin is a Warlock Hunter for the High Council who is sent to either tame Victoria by bonding her to him or kill her. He is intrigued when asked to go after her, since this is not normally the type of thing he is sent in to do. Unimpressed with the file on her, he is blown away when he finally meets Victoria in person. In person, she is sensuality and heat.

The pair set out to get what they can from each other, but as their coupling continues, they form a bond. When Victoria leaves Max and returns to the High Council alone, revenge is the furthest thing from her mind. Instead she doesn't want to hurt Max by their bonding. But Max wants to keep their bond, and he doesn't care what the High Council has to say about it. Max and Victoria have caught the attention of more than a few warlocks. The pair is more powerful than any other bonded pair, and that doesn't sit well with the High Council.

Max's next assignment is proof that they are slowly trying to do away with him. Two black magic warlocks escape and come out to hunt Max, since he captured them in the first place. When one of the Black Magic Warlocks gets to Victoria while Max is distracted, it unleashes a side of her that has been hidden away. Max must reach Victoria, before the Black Magic takes her completely over.

I really enjoyed SPELLBOUND. Sylvia Day is one of my favorite authors because her writing is very diverse. She has a mix of paranormal as well as erotic romance. SPELLBOUND is set up with three different stories about Max and Victoria. It starts at the beginning of how they meet, moves to the pair avenging Darius's death, and lastly it is the story of just how far the pair will go to keep the other alive.
