Anna Lenoir is a strong sexy female bounty hunter who has had to work hard to keep up with the boys. Patrick McNamara is also a bounty hunter he has on a few occasions been beat to the kill by Anna. Yet when he needs someone for support the most he went to her. Anna doesn't want a man around that she cares for. She thinks she is bad for everyone and does not want a man around that she can hurt. Ana has always been good about sleeping with them and moving on, but Patrick stirs something deep inside her. Something that scares her more than a crazed werewolf ever could.
Suddenly the heir to a rival pack is taken and murdered and their friend, Alec, the head of the pack will look guilty of the murder if Anna and Patrick cannot work together to find out what happened. Work together they do and it soon becomes apparent that no matter how hard they try they are drawn together and can't keep their hands off each other. Personal feeling and Anna's reluctance to accept that she needs the love she feels cause as much drama between the two as does the search for the killer. Can they find him in time and will Anna ever accept the fact that she is loved and can love someone back?
ENIGMA is book six of the Southern Arcana series; I haven't read any of the others but, Moria Rodgers does a good job of making the character people you can connect with. I enjoyed reading about their lives and loves. Now I have to go back and read the others. You can read it without reading the rest of the series and have a good read but if you have the time read the others first.
