REPOSSESSED is Book 1 in Shawntelle Madison's Warlock
Repo
Man Chronicles. The main characters in this story --
Tessa
Dandridge and Rob Shin -- come from two different worlds.
She's a matchmaker for the rich and magical and he's a
soldier and a repo man for magical items. This is the first
book I've ever read by Shawntelle Madison. I enjoyed the
almost Alice in Wonderland kind of feel that the story
has. Nothing is as it first seems. I enjoyed being
constantly surprised.
Tessa and Rob are thrown together when she needs him to
help her recover something for her. Although they both have
a physical attraction to each other right away, they start
out going together like oil and water. The sexual tension
is electric. The turning point in their relationship, for
me, was when Tessa met Rob's aunt and uncle. I think that
helped them connect on a basic and emotional level. Tessa
understands Rob's close relationship with his aunt and
uncle because of her close relationship to her late, and
now ghost, grandmother. Through the course of the different
repo jobs they do together, Rob also gets to see a
compassionate side to Tessa. She often chooses to help
somebody else out, even if it costs her a chance to get
what she wants. Shawntelle Madison tells a story of two
flawed people who find each other despite the magical
forces of evil playing havoc with their lives.
In addition to the hot paranormal romance between water
witch matchmaker and warlock repo man, REPOSSESSED is very
much a story about a young woman struggling to find
herself. Tessa inherited the matchmaking business from her
beloved grandmother. I feel as though Tessa is trying to
figure out whether or not the matchmaking business is
really her destiny or whether she should be doing something
else to prove herself. She finds that she actually becomes
pretty skilled working in the repo business. It's a little
boost to her self-esteem when she badly needs one.
REPOSSESSED is a very interesting and different paranormal
romance full of surprises. I look forward to reading more
books in the series -- whether they continue telling Tessa
and Rob's story, or continue with other main characters. I
love the varied characters that populate this world --
golems, leprechauns, warlocks, wizards, and everything in
between.
Return to Shawntelle Madison's Coveted universe in this
fun new series featuring witches and warlocks!
Supernatural matchmaker Tessa Dandridge knows a little mist
here and a little magic there will help reckless werewolves
and precocious pixies find love. That is, until her magical
Smythe scroll is lost in her repo’ed car and she can’t
contact her V.I.P. clients. To connect with an important
client cavorting in the fifth dimension, Tessa must depend
on handsome Rob Shin, a warlock repo man, to enter Limbo and
find her Smythe Scroll.
Rob has money problems of his own, thanks to the bank
determined to foreclose on his elderly aunt and uncle’s
home. Repossessing magic wands and cursed pianos from
disgruntled warlocks isn’t the best pay, but the Navy SEAL
works well as a repo man to pay off his family’s debts.
Rob’s repossession jobs catch up with him when a powerful
warlock seeks to end his life for his constant meddling,
drawing Tessa in the middle.
