Sean Patrick Manley and his two brothers, Bryan and Liam,
are jointly entering a venture to purchase the Martinson
Mansion. Striking a deal with the matriarch, Merriweather
Martinson, to purchase the property following her death,
they have plans to maintain the property as a historical,
exclusive resort. The kicker upon her death is a determined
granddaughter that has prior claims to the estate. All
Olivia Carolla has to do is jump through hoops, performing a
clever scavenger hunt devised by the crafty grandmother to
get her inheritance. Born illegitimately and given up to her
grandmother at age five, Livvy has spent her life living in
boarding schools and has had no relationship at all with her
grandmother. Always on her own with both parents deceased,
she has no love for anyone of the Martinson empire. With no
intentions of falling in love (or lust) trust issues are
uppermost in Livvy's mind.
Losing a game of poker to their sister, Mary-Alice "Mac",
the brothers are bound to play maids for her company, Manley
Maids. Each one must spend four weeks as her maids. She
assigns the Martinson mansion to Sean, which is right up his
alley. He wants to keep his hands in the preparation for
when he's ready to take over the estate. What he hadn't
counted on was the gorgeous redhead appearing with her
entourage from Noah's Ark. Sean is constantly fighting the
birds, alpacas, eight dogs, talking parrot, and goats, which
quickly find a way into the house, creating havoc to Sean's
already extensive work. Torn between helping Livvy find all
the clues versus hindering her for his own gain, Sean
becomes more of a live-in companion than just a maid. If
Livvy were to learn of his deception, the hot, hot sex and
new found love for each other will be out the window, and he
may lose more than just money and success. If he finds the
final clue, will Sean hide it from Livvy or can he risk
losing the woman he fiercely loves?
WHAT A WOMAN WANTS, with its hot, sexy hero and clever-but-
quirky heroine, is just the beginning of this terrific tale.
Complete with a barn full (and house full) of animals, this
hero has to be willing to sleep alongside the entire
menagerie. I love this story which kept me chuckling with
nearly every page and crying at the end. Emotions run high
with everything this determined young woman endures. Judi
Fennell has such a unique way of creating the most quirky
and unusual stories which make it impossible to put this
book down. WHAT A WOMAN WANTS is truly a pure joy to read! I
am anxiously awaiting her next book. I just can't say enough
about this clever and colorful author!
What happens when three irresistibly sexy brothers lose a
poker bet to their enterprising sister? They get hired out
for her housecleaning venture. Now, the Manley Maids are at
your service. Satisfaction guaranteed. It's what a woman
wants...
Resort entrepreneur Sean Manley was all set to buy
an historic mansion at a great price, making a name for
himself while making millions, when the seller and a poker
bet change the game. Now he's in the place as a hunky male
maid and there's one more complication: Livvy Carolla. The
house is Livvy's inheritance. Her plan? Unload it to the
highest bidder and use the cash to start her own bakery
business. One look at the "help"...and she's hot to take him
with her. Until she finds out he's got a secret agenda. But
when Sean falls for the free-spirited, strong-willed Livvy,
he has new ideas for the estate-and Livvy's part in it. If
all goes well, they'll both be getting what they want. And
then some.
Excerpt
Taking a deep breath and straightening his shoulders, Bryan
bit the
bullet and rang the bell.
Instantly a chorus of barks, shrieks, and a couple of
“Expelliarmus!”
spells erupted, followed by a nasty crash and some muttered
cursing.
Then she opened the door.
For a moment, Bryan just stared.
Then his PR training kicked in and he ramped up the Charmer
smile that
was not only his signature look, but one that came naturally
around
beautiful women.
And she was stunning. From her artfully messy, wavy brown
hair, to the
curves just hinted at beneath the open neckline of the
mis-buttoned
blouse, to the yoga pants that hugged shapely legs that went
on forever,
the woman was almost as tall as he was and built like a
woman should be,
rounded in all the right places with just enough to hold on
to for the
ride of a lifetime.
Maybe this wasn’t going to be such a bad gig after all.
Then the kids hit the scene, heads popping out behind her
like some dance
number in a musical.
And they didn’t stop popping. Three. Four. Five. She had her
own
basketball team.
Bryan reined in the smile. He didn’t hit on married women,
and he didn’t
hit on moms.
He especially didn’t hit on married moms.
Of five.
“Who are you?” Kid number two, or maybe three, asked.
“Honestly, Kelsey, that’s no way to greet someone.” The
woman rolled her
gorgeous coffee-colored eyes as she flicked her finger under
the girl’s
chin, then she wiped away her annoyed look and smiled at him.
This time his Charmer smile appeared of its own volition.
Bryan couldn’t
help it. When she smiled, she was beyond stunning, and it
made him glad
he was a man—but annoyed she was married.
And a mom.
Of five.
“Can I help you?”
Let me count the ways. Bryan caught himself before he
started spouting
sonnets. “I’m here to clean your toilet.”
Way to go, idiot. Brilliant opening line.
“I beg your pardon?”
She could beg for whatever she wanted, and he’d give her
every single
thing.
