Romance Contemporary

Peyton Chandler is on the run. She has been running from her husband for years. Things were so bad when she was with him, she gave her son to another woman to raise just so he would be safe. Jake is everything to her and there is nothing she won't do to keep him out of harms way. The secrets that Peyton has to keep are so unbelievable. If her husband Mason finds them in Southwest Colorado she knows they are as good as dead. She takes her baby, someone else's name and runs away. Johanna will keep Jake safe. She has no choice. Peyton has to trust her. Not a day goes by that she doesn't think about Jake and wonders if she will ever get to see him again. Johanna sends letters every now and then, asking for money for them, and even sends a new picture of Jake, but it isn't the same. Sheriff Brian Parker is smitten with Peyton but she refuses to let him in. She is very careful about what she tells him until one day when he notices a scar on her wrist. She gets embarrassed and runs away, but he catches her. He tells her he knows what she was feeling at the time and she doesn't believe him. Until he shows her his same scar in his wrist. She still doesn't confide in him until it is almost too late. Trouble comes to town and she learns Jake is in danger. Her past comes smacking her right in the face. Will Peyton let him in to help her? Will she tell him everything? Read AN IMPOSTOR IN TOWN to find out! There is nothing like a story about a woman on the run and AN IMPOSTOR IN TOWN was quick but really holds your interest. A budding romance with so many secrets that, if she tells them, could destroy what they are starting. Peyton wants to trust Brian but isn't sure what to do. Should she tell him about her past? Denise makes you think throughout the book if you would be strong enough to go through something like what Peyton is going through. Could you give your newborn baby away to someone to raise to keep him safe? Could you stay away from them if you knew where they were? You are going to have to read AN IMPOSTOR IN TOWN to find out what Peyton does. I'm not telling, but I will tell you this, I don't think I could have done what she had to do.

SUMMARY

Peyton Chandler has done everything to protect her son Jake from the evil men who would destroy her by destroying him. For years, she has allowed another woman to raise her son, kept herself apart from him, and hidden behind her dead sister's identity, never allowing herself to get close to anyone--not even Sheriff Brian Parker, the one man whose love and respect she craves. When Brian receives a note claiming there's an impostor in town, he doesn't know where to start his investigation. Peyton fears she will lose the man she loves if he discovers she's not the woman she claims to be.
