DARK HEAT is a compilation of three of author Donna Grant's The Dark Kings Stories with a bonus story added to the end. She introduced these dragons in her Dark Warrior books ... these Dragon Kings have been around since the beginning of time and have live in solitude to protect humans. Now however, someone knows about them and is trying to once again stir up a war.

Dark Craving ... Cassie Hunter arrives in Scotland to start a new life closer to her brother. But instead of her brother meeting her at the airport she finds a note with directions to his car, his home and where to pick up his dog. The car is tiny and the dog is a horse and brother dear forgets to tell her she needs a code to get into the house. Arriving to the rescue is Hal, a dragon king, who helps her and immediately falls for her, though it is forbidden for them to feel anything for humans. Too much is at stake. Night's Awakening ... Elena Griffin isn't the adventurous type and can't figure out why she let her boss Sloan talk her into coming with her to do some cave exploring. Sloan has an accident, leaving Elena to find a way out of the cave. She is rescued by Guy, one of the Dragon Kings. She might be human, and even if she is on their property without permission and is soon going to know more than she could have imagined about things that cannot be real ... she is his.

Dawn's Desire ... to find out who is trying to reawaken the silver dragons and start a war, Elena Griffin returns to her job to find out why Sloan was sent to the Dreagan lands. Jane Holden is the head man's klutzy secretary and Banan, who is in reality a Dragon King, but is pretending to be a driver, is intrigued. It doesn't take long for him to know what his fellow kings had felt. He wants to find the culprit so he can keep her safe then persuade her to let him take her home.

Passion's Claim ... continues with Jane and Banan committing to one another but there is trouble for Elena and Guy. She believes he no longer loves her and he believes that she needs to go back to her world and the job that she gave up for him. She tries to leave wanting his happiness ... but love will not be denied.

What is there not to love about DARK HEAT? I couldn't put it down. This book gives you four stories filled with sexy, gorgeous dragon kings and the women who help them face the truth about love. Added to the sexiness of the series is also the pleasure the reader has of hearing the sounds and getting the feel of the Scottish highlands. I do hope she plans for more stories along this line because there are still a couple of kings who need their mates and the answer to who is behind the trouble is still there to be answered.
