Michelle Slattery is a cop who has seen the evil that man can do but this time it has hit too close to home. Her best friend Allie is missing, captured by mages and she has to find her. She and Allie are both witches. When it is believed that Mages are involved in the disappearance of Allie as well as other witches she is pointed toward the Pacific Werewolf Pack and a shocking reunion.
Josh Neelan had been Michelle's high school sweetheart but suddenly he had disappeared without a word. He had a very good reason, in fact he had been bitten and turned and was now a wolf shifter. After years of training he was now the Enforcer, in essence the cop, of the pack. He hated leaving her but had no choice, he had no control and later when he did have the control he was sure it would be too late to explain.
It's almost too much because Michelle never forgot him, even though she moved on. It's just not the right time to have those feelings come flooding back when she should be using her powers to find Allie before it's too late. But having his help and support is needed so badly while she learns more about herself and the world she could become a bigger part of. His world. A world where she would be accepted as what she is ... a witch and a wolf's mate.
UNCONDITIONAL is an amazing read filled with the emotional lost love found and the tragedy that brought them back together. It's interesting that in this world the shifters are outed but witches and vampires are still secrets. I liked both Michelle and Josh. They were a perfect match and the supporting characters added just the right touches of drama or comedy where needed. First time readers might find this story a little confusing with the different clans of witches and names being dropped since it is book 7 of the series. I will also warn readers that there is a hot scene with Akio who is to be her anchor (explained in the book) that might bother anyone who has problem with m/m and mรฉnage. All in all a fantastic read.
