A Nantucket Christmas

Romance | Holiday

When Nicole marries Sebastian she has grand visions of their Christmas together on Nantucket Island. A NANTUCKET CHRISTMAS is a heartwarming tale that pulls you in right from the very first page and stays with you long after you have finished reading. Nicole is a retired nurse and has married later in life. Sebastian was married once before to Katya and they have a grown daughter together named Kennedy. Kennedy is married to James and they have a son named Maddox.

Kennedy and her family are coming to spend Christmas with Nicole and Sebastian. Kennedy is a spoiled brat and all she wants to do is get her father and mother back together. How can she do that if her father is married to Nicole? You have to read A NANTUCKET CHRISTMAS to find out. Kennedy is also very pregnant and that in itself plays a big part in this beautifully written Christmas tale. When Kennedy and her family arrive on the Island, she starts right in on coming between Nicole and Sebastian. At first, Nicole blames it on her pregnancy but after a day or two she sees right through what Kennedy is doing. She feels like she doesn't belong in the house. Especially since every chance she gets, Kennedy reminds her that the house used to be her mothers.

A huge storm hits Nantucket just before Christmas and surprise surprise, Katya shows up on Nicole's doorstep. With the storm and the holidays there are no more rooms in the inns and despite Nicole and Sebastian's objections they have no choice but to let her stay. Now A NANTUCKET CHRISTMAS really gets crazy. This was my first book by Nancy but it won't be my last. I love how real the story feels and felt like I am right in the middle of Nicole and Sebastian's living room drinking hot chocolate and catching up with everyone. I truly enjoyed reading A NANTUCKET CHRISTMAS and loved the message of family and how sometimes you just have to learn to put up with their antics even though you really just want to smack them over and over again! Nancy does a great job in dealing with the perils of being a step mother and how you have to take the good with the bad no matter how bad it is. A NANTUCKET CHRISTMAS is a wonderful feel good Christmas story.

SUMMARY

Known for her heartwarming observations of family life, New York Times bestselling author Nancy Thayer showcases her beloved Nantucket’s snowy off-season in this emotionally gratifying and utterly entertaining story. Holidays on this Massachusetts island are nothing short of magical, and the season’s wonderful traditions are much loved by Nicole Somerset, new to Nantucket and recently married to a handsome former attorney. Their home is already full of enticing scents of pine, baking spices, and homemade pie. But the warm, festive mood is soon tempered by Nicole’s chilly stepdaughter, Kennedy, who arrives without a hint of holiday spirit. Determined to keep her stepmother at arm’s length—or, better yet, out of the picture altogether—Kennedy schemes to sabotage Nicole’s holiday preparations. Nicole, however, is not about to let anyone or anything tarnish her first Christmas with her new husband.
