This short story introduces Eden Carver from Iowa, who's
now an actress in New York. She's got a crush on her
neighbour, a uniformed cop, but can't admit it in case
friends think she's kinky about handcuffs. And how can she
be sure if it's the guy himself she likes, or the
uniform? Jay Bennet seems like a really nice guy, and
shares pizza sometimes, but he's never acted other than
friendly.
HOLD ME DOWN HARD is what Eden wants, but Jay is quietly
sure that she deserves someone sweeter than him, and has no
intention of getting into a permanent relationship at this
stage of his life. He's not ready to be asked to quit
street patrols. One evening though, Eden comes to his door
and asks him to help her prepare for a script audition. He
doesn't realise the crafty lady has written the script
herself....
The focus is on the sexual tensions between the two main
characters, and I liked both of their strengths. Eden has
led a practical life on the farm, not a sheltered one, and
is ready for a more physically powerful relationship than
Jay realises. Jay still wants to shelter her from the
dangerous big city. Can they find a workable solution?
Cathryn Fox has other romance works to
her name besides this energetic seductive short HOLD ME
DOWN HARD.
When Eden Carver, Iowa farm girl turned NY actress,
decides to seduce the sexy cop next door, she begins to
wonder if she's bitten off more than she can chew.
The last thing Officer Jay Bennett wants is to cross a
line with the sweet and innocent country girl—no
matter how much he'd like to help himself to a nibble. Not
only are they in the friendship zone, a naïve girl like Eden
doesn't belong in his dangerous world.
But when she asks him to help her rehearse lines, and
things go from simmer to boil, he finds himself doing the
one thing he swore he'd never do.He knows he needs to walk
away from temptation, but when sweet little Eden bites back,
it tilts his world on its axis.
