Honor Holland loves working in her families wine business.
At 35 this has always been her life. As her birthday
approaches, she realizes that their has to be more to her
life than just working. Honor wants a family. Honor's
best friend is Brogan, not only is he her best friend, but
one
with benefits. Now she knows that it is time to take their
friendship to a different level.
Honor decides that she is going to pop the question to
Brogan. They have known each other for ever and Honor
knows that Brogan is who she wants to spend the rest of her
life with. Brogan, doesn't feel the same way. He likes the
way that their relationship is.
Honor being completely heart broken turns to her best friend
Dana. Honor is done with Brogan, and is going to move on
with her life. Several weeks later, Honor gets a phone
call from Brogan. He has something very important to tell
her. Honor is thrilled thinking that Brogan has had a
change of heart and wants them to get married. Talk about
getting the shock of her life. Brogan and Dana are now
together. Honor feels like she has been stabbed in the back
by her two best friends. Honor throws a drink in Dana's
face and a fight breaks out between the two of them.
Tom Barlow is a college professor who is from England. Tom
witnesses the fight and can't believe that two women are
having a knock out fight in a tavern. Tom finds out the
that college that he works for is not going to renew his
visa. Tom wants to stay in the US as he has a sort of
step son Charlie. Tom was engaged to Charlie's mother.
However she is killed crossing the street. Tom tried to
get custody of Charlie, but because they were not married he
can't. His only option would be to get married to an
American and get his green card. Could they be the perfect
match?
Kristan Higgins Blue Heron series is about the
Holland
family. They run a family owned winery. This is one of
her series that I really enjoy. Each of the books in this
series is about a different member of the family. There are
several other characters in this Blue Heron series
that I am
hopeful she will write a book about.
I can't wait as I am
sure which ever character she writes about
next will be as great as this book is.
One of the many things that I really like about Kristan
Higgins books is that I can relax and not worry about the
things that are going on in my life and around me. I can
forget my life and get engrossed in the life of her
characters. The characters are believable, you can almost
put someone in your life into the life of these characters.
The main reason that I like her series, is that she brings
back the other characters so that you can see what has
become of the story line from a previous book.
What if the perfect match is a perfect surprise?
Honor Holland has just been unceremoniously rejected
by her lifelong crush. And now—a mere three weeks
later—Mr. Perfect is engaged to her best friend. But
resilient, reliable Honor is going to pick herself up, dust
herself off and get back out there…or she would if
dating in Manningsport, New York, population 715, wasn't
easier said than done. Charming, handsome British professor
Tom Barlow just wants to do right by his unofficial stepson,
Charlie, but his visa is about to expire. Now Tom must
either get a green card or leave the States—and leave
Charlie behind. In a moment of impulsiveness, Honor agrees
to help Tom with a marriage of convenience—and make
her ex jealous in the process. But juggling a fiancé,
hiding out from her former best friend and managing her job
at the family vineyard isn't easy. And as sparks start to
fly between Honor and Tom, they might discover that their
pretend relationship is far too perfect to be anything but
true love….
