"Solid Contemporary Romance With Great Characterization"

Fresh Fiction Review

Along Came Trouble
Erin Kern

Romance

Restaurant manager Brody McDermott is one bad review away from losing his job, more than that, disappointing his father. The long hours he spends trying to make a go of part of the family business costs him time with his son. The last thing he is looking for is a woman to complicate matters. Elisa Cardoso is poised for her big break. All it will take is one call from her college mentor and she could be part of the next National Geographic photographic expedition. Falling in love is not part of her plans, and she sees no sense in changing her life for anyone not willing to make a firm commitment in return. Erin Kern pulls from everyday life to bring together people who at first seem to have little in common. Although Elisa may be a bit of an exotic (former model turned professional photographer) Brody is someone who typifies many people; a workaholic father who only sees his kid for short bursts of time and struggles to show the love he feels for his boy. He is faced with emotionally difficult choices (as is Elisa) and manages to struggle through. Through solid characterization and sensible plotting Kern brings us along for the ride, providing a contemporary romance that presents challenges most readers can identify with and culminates with a happy ever after that brightens our day. ALONG CAME TROUBLE is the third in the Trouble series. The first two in the series also deal with the McDermott brothers (Here Comes Trouble and Looking For Trouble.)

SUMMARY

TROUBLE HAS ARRIVED Elisa Cardoso longs for passion in her life. Though she'd much rather spend her days photographing the stunning Wyoming landscape, food photography is a lucrative, if uninspiring, way to pay her bills. But when her next assignment brings her face to face with sexy restaurant owner Brody McDermott, Elisa can't deny the delicious effect he has on her. From the minute Brody sees Elisa, he's dying to unleash her inner bad girl. He knows there's more to the sophisticated photographer than meets the eye. Now getting the sexy shutterbug into his bed is on his menu, but when she starts making her way into his heart-big problem. Love has been tricky for Brody, and he's not too eager to try his luck again. But when a golden opportunity means Elisa may be leaving Trouble for good, can Brody find the courage to grab on to love . . . before it slips away?
