FOUR WEDDINGS AND A WEREWOLF is Book 2 in this
author's Seattle Wolf Pack series. I was looking
forward
to this book because I really enjoyed the previous story in
this series. Logan Black and Veronica Vale are first
introduced to each other while both at a wedding at the
opening of the story. Logan is caught staring at Veronica
and she just assumes he's flirting. That's totally true.
Logan does find himself attracted to her, much to his
chagrin, but she's more of a mission. His best friend Jake
and her sister Leah are engaged. Jake is not only Logan's
buddy, but his werewolf packmate as well. Veronica knows
about werewolves being real. She was exposed to that world
when her sister was bitten and turned into one. She also
knows that Leah's fiancé is a werewolf. She just doesn't
know that the hot guy staring at her at a wedding she
planned is a werewolf.
Jake asked Logan to keep Veronica
safe, and keep an eye on her. She has recently attracted a
secret admirer. She thinks it's harmless but Jake believes
it's actually a werewolf stalker. Rather than tell Veronica
his suspicions directly, he puts Logan on the case to be
covert protection. They end up being intimately involved
rather quickly but just as quickly, Logan learns of
Veronica's general distaste for werewolves. This stems from
her fear of losing Leah and the only real family she has.
She worries that her sister being a werewolf will be
something that will draw them apart.
In addition to the
external conflict of the mysterious stalker, there are a
few internal conflicts as well. Logan fears that Veronica
will reject him when she learns about him being a werewolf.
In reality, she worries that he is incapable of loving her
and making a serious long-term commitment to her. Logan
isn't completely sold on the idea of true love and fated
mates -- largely because of his parental examples.
The two
both go through some emotional growth in this book. I like
that Veronica sees that not all werewolves are monsters
like the one who bit her sister. I loved this sexy,
suspense-filled paranormal romance. The suspense kept me
interested but it did not outweigh the romance. I loved the
characters and look forward to reading more books in this
series.
Logan Black, former Marine
and bodyguard for the Seattle Wolf Pack, hates weddings and
has no plan to walk the path to matrimonial misery. But when
he’s hired to protect a hot-to-trot wedding planner with a
werewolf stalker, he’s forced to put his feelings aside. Not
such an easy task when the damsel can turn him on with a
single smoldering glance.
Wedding planner Veronica
Vale knows werewolves exist, but hates them. One bit her
sister, changing their lives forever. When a sexy Marine
shows his gorgeous face at one of her wedding appointments,
Veronica finds it hard to focus on the task at
hand.
The chemistry drawing Logan and Veronica
together seems fated, but with Logan’s playboy attitude,
Veronica’s hatred for werewolves, and a stalker lurking in
the shadows, these two need more than passion to keep them
together.
