Hallie Eliott seems to have it all. The perfect job and boyfriend. Her life is all she dreamed it would be. Until one day when she catches her boyfriend Peter and her boss in a compromising position. She decides she needs a much needed break and runs away to Lake Como Italy to rethink her choices and figure out what to do about Peter and the rest of her life.

Her mother once lived there with her husband, Pliny who just happens to be an Italian Prince. She also has a step brother and sister there and looks forward to getting to know them again. Once there she starts to find out things, family secrets thanks to her mother's journals.upon. Hallie is so torn on what to do with the information she has learned. She has always been close to her grandmother and could ask her to verify what she has found out. But her grandmother's health hasn't been that good lately and she is afraid to upset her. Hallie has no idea who to turn to for help but she knows it won't be Peter. She decides to confide in her new boss, Angus.

Hallie finds herself falling for Angus. He is the caretaker at a beautiful villa who's boss is a recluse and hasn't been seen by anyone for years. Angus tells her he just enjoys being alone and collecting beautiful things. Hallie finds that strange but loves working on designing the villa and enjoys her time with Angus. Just when everything seems to be falling into place, Hallie learns a huge secret about Angus and is crushed. Trust me, it's huge! You have to read LAKE COMO to find out what it is! You won't be sorry.

I loved LAKE COMO by Anita Hughes. It hooked me right from page one and never let me go. This was my first read of Anita's novels but now I'm off to hunt down the rest. Anita's descriptions of the scenery in Lake Como had me wishing I was right there with Hallie. I was instantly wrapped up in Hallie's life and problems and had to keep turning the pages to find out what happens. The secrets in LAKE COMO will keep you up late at night reading until you find out how it all ends.
