All families have secrets. Some families have secrets that
can kill....
A painting has disappeared, wreaking havoc in the lives of
the Collins' family. Quentin's werewolf curse is only kept
under control through that painting and now he is at the
mercy of the moon. Little does he realize that the vampire
secrets. To save his family, David Collins will have to team
up with Jacqueline, who is the reincarnation of the witch
who originally cursed Barnabas and made him a vampire.
Barnabas Collins is the one who pilfered the painting.
Unfortunately, Dr. Nathanial Blair has come to the Collins'
family to demand a séance or he will expose the family
WOLF MOON RISING is the third in Lara Parker's Dark Shadows
books. I would highly suggest reading the earlier books or
being more familiar with the characters and plotline of Dark
Shadows than I am before starting this book. Initially, I
was quite confused about how the plethora of characters fit
together but luckily Lara Parker begins to fill in the gaps
for readers like me who took the plunge late in the series.
The relationships are still a bit as we have characters who
are reincarnated and others who don't age, so readers should
note that there are a couple relationships within the family
that may be troublesome to some readers.
Lara Parker does a great job at creating the atmosphere I
expected from a Dark Shadows book. The cast of characters
included in the book is quite helpful for those who aren't
Dark Shadows aficionados and need a bit more description
about who the characters are. WOLF MOON RISING is an
interesting read!
The first all-new Dark Shadows novel in years, written by
Lara Parker, one of the stars of the cult classic TV show!
When a portrait is lost that has maintained Quentin
Collins’s youthful appearance for over a century—and has
also kept his werewolf curse at bay—Quentin begins to dread
the full moon.
Meanwhile, David, the sixteen-year-old heir to the Collins
fortune, has fallen in love with Jacqueline, a young girl
living at the Old House who is the reincarnation of
Angelique. David and Jacqueline are swept back in time to
the prohibition era of the Twenties, where David uncovers
the dark secrets of the Collins family history.
Most threatening of all, Dr. Nathanial Blair, an expert in
the paranormal, has come to Collinwood because he suspects
they are harboring a vampire. Fortunately, Barnabas Collins
has returned to his coffin after a disastrous flirtation
with life as a human. Nevertheless, what Blair discovers
places the entire Collins family in jeopardy.
