Rana Oceanus has a secret and has left her husband, Titus. Her all-consuming love for her husband of 40 years, has prompted her to leave him in order to keep him safe. Titus is an immortal God from Atlantis who rules his kingdom with magic. Rana has purchased a rundown hovel in a different part of Maine than their home, and intends to dabble in making creations from metal.
Rana and Titus's daughter Carolina is expecting her first child out of wedlock with plans to marry following the birth. Maximilian, their son, is next to inheriting the kingdom from Titus. Titus has great concern that his one and only love will eventually die and she, a mere mortal, will leave him alone with a life of complete void. Surrounded by family and friends with a prospect of a new God being created, great concern is felt for the mortals of the area. With mystical trees and sea creatures to follow Titus's every wish, electricity surrounds the towns of Spellbound and Turtleback. Choosing this modern century agrees with the couple even though Titus has traveled through numerous centuries. With magic bouncing around, Titus has finally come to some decisions that Rana may not be in compliance with.
Filled with mystical suspense and excitement, this installment in the Spellbound Falls series is just as remarkable and wonderful as the others I have read. Mixing a century old immortal with a simple but stubborn mortal woman, keeps the reading quite interesting. If you enjoy total enchantment, FOR THE LOVE OF MAGIC is the book for you. The mythological aspect of the book can be created only by Janet Chapman, an expert at weaving a spellbinding tale combining past and present.
