Dr. Joanie Fisher finds herself without a job and a lover
all in one fell swoop. Her boss and boyfriend, Robert did
nothing to protect her when Cabal Industries was sold and
her lab had gone up in flames. The rebuilding of everything
that she had been working on in finding a cure for CLS
(Chronic Lycanthropy Syndrome) would have been too
expensive during the merger. An inheritance comes at the
perfect time but in accepting she has no idea that she is
about to face THE MOUNTAIN'S SHADOW, her past and her
future.
Her best friend Lonna Marconi is a private investigator and
there have been a number of missing children from the
Crystal Pines area near the Manor. Lonna's plan is to help
her friend settle in while secretly looking for the
children. She would never believe the change her own life
is about to take.
Inheriting her grandfather's fortune and Wolfsbane Manor
came as a surprise and welcome distraction for the mess her
life was in. The easy move Joanie planned gets hair-
raisingly alarming as things get more complicated as the
days go by. There is so much that she doesn't understand,
so much she doesn't know and so much she must learn if she
is to survive.
THE MOUNTAIN'S SHADOW is a complex, sometimes chilling
paranormal. Author Cecelia Dominic has you so deeply
involved in this story that you cannot put it down. The
romantic moments are almost non-existent but what is there
is sweet and not graphic. There are a lot of twists and
turns to this storyline, and at a few points you find
yourself wondering if there are any good guys to the plot.
To be honest, I did find it a little too complicated for a
quick read, but this is a good book from a different angle
in the paranormal world. If you are looking for something
different give THE MOUNTAIN'S SHADOW a try.
Some mistakes can literally come back to bite you. The Lycanthropy Files, Book 1 First it was ADD. Then pediatric bipolar. Now the hot behavioral disorder in children is CLS, or Chronic Lycanthropy Syndrome. Public health researcher Joanie Fisher was closing in on the cause in hopes of finding a treatment until a lab fire and an affair with her boss left her without a job. When her grandfather leaves her his multimillion-dollar estate in the Ozarks, though, she figures her luck is turning around. Except her inheritance comes with complications: town children who disappear during full moons, an irresistible butler, and a pack of werewolves who can’t seem to decide whether to frighten her or flirt with her. Joanie’s research is the key to unraveling the mysteries of Wolfsbane Manor. However, resuming her work means facing painful truths about her childhood, which could result in the loss of love, friendship, and the only true family she has left. Warning: Some sexy scenes, although nothing explicit, and adult language. Also alcohol consumption and food descriptions that may wreck your diet.
