He has no idea that his search for answers concerning his father's deathbed confession would bring him face to face with danger. He has to know what his father did that had him so very upset. With the job he figures while he is working he could snoop to find the truth, finish the work and go back to New Orleans. He had no way of knowing that Danae would not only knock him off his feet and put a crimp in his plans but wedge her way into his heart.

THE BETRAYED is an emotional, action packed story that takes the reader back into the haunting swamps of Louisiana. Author Jana DeLeon brings us the second of her Mystere Bayou: Family Inheritance in the same exciting theme with another fantastic couple. Danae and Zach both have secrets but they slowly begin to rely on each other. If your idea of romance is immediate burning sheets you will not find this here. Ms. DeLeon, gives you the full spectrum of feelings, the wanting and stepping back before finally giving in to the full desire the couple has come to feel. After reading The Accused I was very much looking forward to the next book and I was not dissatisfied with this one and look forward to the next.
