Zoe Adams and her grandmother Irma are witches who have been banished from Boston by their coven and move, on invitation, to Chicago. They land right in the middle of Vamptown. Zoe is okay with that except for the one Demon Hunter Damon Thornheart who seems to have an instant dislike for her or is it just witches in general? She has absolutely no plans to get involved with THE ENTITY WITHIN. She just wants to make her soaps and lotions and be at peace. Not going to happen.

Damon doesn't believe in feelings they get in the way and doesn't trust witches since one had him ambushed and he landed in hell. Nope ... Zoe Adams and her trouble making Gram do not belong in Vamptown. He believes that especially when another of their "accidents" releases demons into his town, with the boss demon seemingly after the beautiful witch. Now he has to protect the town, defeat the demons and figure out why the heart he doesn't have seems to be so filled with his little witch.

THE ENTITY WITHIN will blow the reader away. It is packed with everything we want: action, gorgeous vampires, a feisty grandmother, a talking cat (oh excuse me ... a familiar) and evil demons. Did I mention gorgeous vampires? Zoe and Damon are evenly matched and I enjoyed watching them bicker back and forth in their own little love dance until they are faced with the truth of how they really feel. And those feelings cumulate in a very satisfying conclusion, right where two lovers should be. Author Cat Devon takes us back to Vamptown with her array of unusual characters that includes the nerds and hippies and even the sexpot, tanning salon owner Tanya returns to lose again. Fantastic continuation of a series that I hope the author has more of up her sleeve, because I am certainly ready to read them.
