Skyler Harrington and her friends India and Elissa own their own businesses and consider themselves successful. Skyler owns the Wildflower Inn in Blue Falls, Texas. Today is her 30th birthday and her friends have taken it upon themselves to give the cautious gal a boost to throw caution to the wind and be adventuresome. Totally terrified, Skyler soon realizes they have orchestrated and paid for a sky diving venture. To add to her terror, her instructor and guide is a drop dead gorgeous cowboy who looks more like he should be in the rodeo than jumping from a plane. Learning Elissa's Aunt Verona is involved only makes things worse as she has the reputation of being the town "matchmaker".

In addition to being the instructor, Skyler has also promised Logan Bradshaw a date for the night if he gets her to the ground safely. Logan is in town to perform in the bull riding event at the rodeo and faithfully follows the circuit and on the move to each and every rodeo in the country. Logan, a wanderer, with no intention of making roots, and Skyler, a real homebody who needs her security and home base, seem like two opposites. Throwing caution to the wind Skyler and Logan end up having the hottest sex imaginable, considering it a one night stand.

Logan is gone and Skyler is devastated to find she is pregnant, in spite of the safe sex. Making plans to raise the baby alone and not inform Logan, she can't believe it when he shows up in town again following an injury involving a bull. The longer Logan is around Skyler, the more he begins to believe he can settle down and be a good father to his unborn child. Neither wants to admit they have fallen completely in love and nothing seems able to work with Logan as a wanderer and Skyler a home body. Is there anything at all Logan can do to change her mind and make this a life they both desire?

Trish Milburn writes a very heartwarming tale of a very independent young woman who only wants stability and everlasting love in her life. She has filled the story with excitement and surprises around every corner. I was riveted by the story and couldn't put HAVING THE COWBOY'S BABY down until I had read the entire thing. Trish Milburn has a way of keeping the whole story interesting and amusing throughout. This will be one author which will remain on my read list from here on out!
