Romance

When Carly McKinnon learns her one night stand resulted in an unexpected pregnancy she decides she wants to leave the east coast and raise her baby in Lonesome Way, Montana. It is the only place she felt safe and at home. After years of loss and disappointments Carly is excited to make a home for her child and herself in the small town where she visited when she was just a child. Lonesome Way also happens to be where the baby's fathers family lives. Carly knows he isn't the settling down type and he rarely comes to his hometown so she believes it is a safe place for the baby and her to settle down and build their life.

When Jake Tanner arrives in his home town of Lonesome Way he thought it would be a quick visit for his niece's first birthday celebration. Jake reckoned he could kill two birds with one stone. He would visit with family and take care of a few business ideas he'd been kicking around. Jake figured two maybe three days tops and then he would fly out to film his newest endorsement commercial before heading back to the rodeo circuit and his life on the road. What he never planned on was a chance reunion with a woman from his past would shake the very foundation he stood on and change his life forever.

Author Jill Gregory brings readers back to Lonesome Way for her third novel in the series, BLACKBIRD LAKE. Gregory weaves a captivating tale that draws her readers in and makes them never want to leave. In BLACKBIRD LAKE the reunion between Carly and Jake is magnetic and mesmerizing. Regrettably their happily ever after isn't a guaranteed thing. Both Jake and Carly will have to face their own demons if they are to have the possibility of a future together. BLACKBIRD LAKE takes readers on their tumultuous journey and they are forever better for have taken the ride. Here is to hoping Gregory keeps gifting us with more Lonesome Way Novels.

SUMMARY

When rodeo champ Jake Tanner returns to Lonesome Way, Carly McKinnon may be the only one not happy about it. The last thing she wants is Jake finding out about her daughter—or rather, their daughter. Since their one-night fling years ago, Carly has been a great parent on her own. And the footloose Jake isn’t the sort of father she wants for little Emma. But once Jake learns the truth, he wants to be a part of Emma’s life even if he’s not going to be a part of Carly’s. Even though the pair agrees to try to be friends, they soon find that being “just friends” isn't so easy. The red-hot attraction between them sets off sparks they thought they had left behind. Despite their rocky past and uncertain future, can Carly and Jake find their way into each other's arms—and hearts?
