A diabolical plot is afoot on earth and the angels from Heaven are determined to stop it. One angel, in the guise of human detective David Giovanni, is charged with protecting Zoe Montgomery. Zoe is the human daughter of a senator but, unbeknownst to her, she is also the daughter of the Archangel Michael. David and Zoe will have to work together if they are to stop the mastermind, Mathias, or the dead bodies will continue to accumulate.

DEADLY RESERVATIONS is the first book in an ambitious paranormal series featuring Zoe Montgomery. The world building is vast as it encompasses both earth and heaven, as well as the paranormal and technology. Denise Fleischer does an excellent job at integrating technology into the storyline with the involvement of Charles and Ghost. The initial transition is a bit awkward but once the reader is plunged headlong into the storyline, it's a fascinating meld of technology and the paranormal.

The premise of DEADLY RESERVATIONS is fascinating and the chemistry between Zoe and David clicks instantly with the reader. Knowledge of her power comes perhaps a bit too easily to Zoe, as she always seems to have the right answer for every problem that comes her way. Overall, DEADLY RESERVATIONS is intriguing if a bit rushed at times.
