Romance | Romance Suspense

When a former government agent, who's being used for a top-secret experiment, manages to break out of one of their most secure locations, it prompts the government to send in a Navy SEAL to protect the assets they think the escapee may be after. Wolfe Houston has had a lot of different assignments that involve National Security; his newest assignment has got to be one of the most unique though. His mission is to track down four genetically enhanced dogs and ensure they're protected at all times. Along with the dogs, he's also been ordered to protect the dogs' trainer, who just happens to be the sister of his oldest friend.

Kit O'Halloran doesn't have a clue what the dogs she's currently training are capable of or even that she's training them for the government. When Wolfe shows up in her life again with a lame excuse about her brother having sent him to check up on her, she knows he isn't telling her the truth. Once the bullets start flying though, Wolfe has no choice but to tell Kit a little about what the government is doing in order to keep her safe. After all her years of dreaming, things seem to finally be heating up between her and Wolfe, but before they can explore the attraction and see if they have a future together they're forced to go on the run and escape the people who want to kidnap Kit and her dogs.

CODE NAME: BABY is a delightful read. You'll fall in love with the four super dogs, especially Baby. Everyone needs a dog like her. Kit is a wonderful character who you can't help but sympathize with. Her dedication to her dogs is wonderful. Wolfe is one of those alpha males that just makes you want to scream at times. But of course, you can't help but like him as well. This is one for the keeper shelf.

SUMMARY

Battle-honed Wolfe Houston is on a mission of national security: protect valuable government assets targeted by hostiles. But tracking down four genetically enhanced service dogs and guarding their furry backs 24/7 is going to take all of Wolfe's tactical skills.

The dogs' unsuspecting civilian trainer, Kit O'Halloran doesn't know that deadly mercenaries are determined to kidnap her charges. With puppies to find and bullets to dodge, there's no time to waste -- so why is Kit pressed against an adobe wall by moonlight, reveling in the hot magic of Wolfe's slow, skillful hands?

Wolfe is fascinated by Kit's devotion to her puppies, especially Baby, the incorrigible runt of the litter. But two other civilian trainers have died under strange circumstances -- and a foreign government has just posted a staggering bounty for Kit's capture. Before Wolfe can explore their burgeoning attraction, the two are on the run, forced to guess which of their secret contacts is friend . . . and which is deadliest foe. Only Baby can lead them through the storm to safe haven in each other's arms. Good dog!
