Skinny Bitch In Love

Women's Fiction Contemporary | Romance

Kim Barnouin is delightful. I couldn't put SKINNY BITCH IN LOVE down.

Clementine Cooper is a vegan chef. Her big dream is to open her own café. Along comes Zach, who is anything but a vegan. He is also very rich. The two meet when Zach is in the process of opening a steakhouse. The steakhouse just happens to be where Clem wanted to open her café. These two are not off to a great start.

Kim Barnouin brings humor into the story line when we get to meet some of the other characters. The story line also shows the true meaning of friendship, and betrayal.

Clementine decides to start a cooking class. First to help herself and also to help Sara who is trying to become and actress, her weight seems to be a slight problem. Here is where we meet several other characters. Eve who is trying to get over her ex and Duncan who is trying to do the same. Clem has always had to fight and work hard for what she wants. Zach never had to work a day in his life if he didn't want too. Can these two get over their different live styles and become a couple?

Kim Barnouin makes you first hate some of the characters and than really love them. I have to say not being a vegan; I really would like to have some of the recipes that she writes about. Kim also writes about how there is give and take in every relationship.

Kim also has smaller story lines in this book. All the story line intertwines with each other. Kim does a really great job of insuring that readers do not lose their interest in this story.

If Kim's other books are as good as this one, I will be spending a lot of time in the bookstore and library looking for them.

SUMMARY

From the coauthor of the phenomenal #1 New York Times bestselling Skinny Bitch lifestyle series—a clever, kick-ass novel about friendship, romance, and making healthy choices both in and out of the kitchen.

Clementine Cooper is a born vegan, committed in every way to the healthy lifestyle she was raised with on her father’s organic farm. But how bad could a little butter be? Bad enough to get the ambitious and talented sous chef fired when an influential food critic discovers dairy in Clem’s butternut squash ravioli with garlic sage sauce. Though she was sabotaged by a backstabbing coworker, Clem finds herself unceremoniously blackballed from every vegan kitchen in L.A.

Like any vegan chef worth her salt, however, Clem knows how to turn lemons into delicious, cruelty-free lemonade cupcakes. She launches the Skinny Bitch Cooking School in hopes of soon opening her own café in an empty space near her apartment. But on the first day of class, sexy millionaire restaurateur Zach Jeffries puts a fork in her idea with his own plans for the space—a steakhouse. Clem is livid. For a carnivore, Zach is more complicated than she anticipated. He’s also a very good kisser. But could dating one of the most eligible bachelors in the city—and a meat-eater—be as bad for Clem as high-fructose corn syrup? Shouldn’t she fall instead for a man who seems to be her perfect match in every way—like Alexander Orr, a very cute, very sweet vegan chef?

Clem thought she was open-minded, but as she confronts the challenges of budding entrepreneurship, old rivals, ex-boyfriends, and tempting suitors, she begins to wonder if she can ever say “I love you” to a man who hates tofu.
