Tessa Camry's life is in danger and Seth Sinclair is just
the man she needs to protect her from whoever is after her.
But Tessa can't seem to let go of a secret she's harbored
for five years, one she promised never to tell. Seth is
Tessa's patient at the physical therapy office where she
works, but gets involved when another threat rears its head
while he is in her office. Seth works for a local private
security company and knows his way around keeping his
clients safe. Can Seth get Tessa to open up and tell the
police all they need to know to keep her alive and find the
person who is trying to keep her quiet? Can he protect her
and not get personally involved? There's electricity in the
air when they get close. Tessa still can't let go of the
circumstances surrounding the death of her husband.
Shirlee McCoy gives us a delightful read in this
inspirational suspense story. She explores the topic of God
putting people in other people's lives "for such a time as
this," just as he did Queen Esther. DEFENDER FOR HIRE is a
story about letting go of the past and moving on with your
life. It's about having the faith that you need to let go
and let God work things out. Tessa and Seth are strong-
willed, independent characters who keep the story moving
fluidly. There are only a few supporting characters, but
they lend their voices nicely to carrying out the plot.
DEFENDER FOR HIRE is another quick read for a summer
afternoon that you should enjoy. Add it to you list.
