Thriller

Deputy Inspector Sean Corrigan is called to a gruesome murder scene in the early morning hours. His unit is in charge of violent deaths that occur in London. Corrigan's shattered upbringing gives him insight into the criminal mind that other investigators just don't possess. At the scene, he finds a forensically clean loft; this killer is very, very careful.

As DI Corrigan's department investigates this killing, they are led to James Hellier, a successful businessman in the world of finance. Corrigan doesn't have enough evidence to hold Hellier, but is almost positive he is the one. Further investigation leads Corrigan to believe Hellier also killed a young woman a few weeks prior. The MOs are not the same, but that crime scene was forensically clean, as well. When a third similar crime is committed, Corrigan is certain he has Hellier nailed this time, but further evidence makes Corrigan question whether James Hellier really is the serial killer. And is Hellier really who he says he is?

In his debut novel, Luke Delaney has given us a magnificent police thriller you are sure to enjoy. COLD KILLING is packed with suspense from beginning to end. It is a story about power, victimization and playing the game. The characters are strong and committed in their roles, and there are several subplots that chase the investigators' theories. Delaney seamlessly weaves the story of the investigation with details the killer gives us of his plans and preparations for each kill. The language of the details is vivid and masterfully scribed. The surprise ending will catch you unaware and thrill you at the same time. If you're a fan of this genre, COLD KILLING is a must-read for you.
