DIRE DESIRES BY STEPAHNIE TYLER is an exciting, suspenseful thrill ride from the first page. While DIRE DESIRES mostly focuses on the story of Jinx and Gillian there is so much more to this book than that. When Jinx and Jez break into the psychiatric hospital to look for the bad spirit that they were told was there, Jinx finds more then he bargained for. The spirit has left, but what he finds is a beautiful full blood Dire shewolf that calls to him on a level he never thought he would have. He knows immediately that she is his, mate. Gillian has no idea why she craves the moon and why she needs to run under its glorious glow, naked. That is until the gorgeous stranger talks his way into her room and assures her that he will be taking her out of there, tonight. He assures her that she is not crazy and that he can explain everything that she is feeling and going through and that he can help her. She is leery of this stranger since she has heard it all before from the doctors and her family. Since everyone thinks she is crazy and a danger to herself and others, she decides to put up a fight before he can take her. Once Jinx has Gillian outside for a walk drugged against their will, he kidnaps her. Jinx, Jez and Gillian head to the Dire mansion to have Gwen check her out since he knows she will be safe there. He is not sure how he will be received, since he was kicked out but he has to take Gillian someplace safe and knows that the mansion is it. There at the mansion it is discovered that she is a member of the Greenland wolf pack. She has no idea what they are talking about since she is human and has human parents that adopted her when she was only a few days old.
From here the real excitement begins. Liam and the twins (Cyd & Cain) are fighting the rouges that are threatening to undermine Liam's new roll as the Manhattan pack leader. Jinx has to find a way to keep his secret about him being the one that opened purgatory and how to get the monsters back where they came and all the while still worrying about his twin, Rouge. The one thing that is always the same with the Dires is that they are always there for one another no matter what and that is something that I really like. I enjoyed DIRE DESIRES and recommend this book as a must read. Especially if you are a fan of the Dire wolf pack or a fan of Stephanie Tyler's .
