"Scary ghost busting with a dash of humor thrown in for good measure makes this a captivating story."

Horror

Jessica Backman is a self-professed ghost hunter who also does what she can to send them on their way to where they should have gone to begin with. She really is fascinated by the work she does and is thrilled to be contacted by a caretaker of the local cemetery regarding something very strange that seems to happen nightly in a certain area of the cemetery. The first night that she investigates the phenomenon, she takes along her friend, Angela. However, when the ghost makes its appearance, Angela faints dead away and refuses to go back again. Jessica finds this to be a rather different sort of haunting because of the way the ghost appears at one certain grave and the accompanying other worldly scream that emanates from the grave below it. She's never seen anything quite like it and is immediately hooked with finding out more. It becomes her only focus as she digs deeper into the history of the person buried in the grave. By the time she figures it all out, it becomes apparent that she's enraged the odd ghost to the point that it seems bent on destroying her. THE GRAVEYARD SPEAKS is a quirky sort of ghost story, but it definitely does have its scary moments. It is actually a novella that is used to introduce readers to Jessica. You will find plenty of reasons in this story to look forward to the full length book that stars Jessica, who is a wonderful character and very entertaining. With the right blend of nervousness and courage, Jessica forges ahead into the investigation that eventually leads her to a resolution. Hunter Shea knows how to write horror books that will draw you in and scare you beyond belief. THE GRAVEYARD SPEAKS isn't quite as scary other books he has written but you'll still find yourself quite caught up in Jessica's world and the ghost that she faces. If you are unfamiliar with Hunter Shea's books, this may be a great introduction.

SUMMARY

Some secrets can’t stay buried. Deep in a dark, snow-covered cemetery, a terrifying, moaning apparition rises from the same grave night after night. Even the most hardened caretakers won’t go near the Spooner gravestone on their midnight rounds. Only one ghost hunter has the will to face the unknown, but at what price? In the chilling blackness, only Jessica Backman is prepared to answer the spectral cry from beyond when the graveyard speaks.
