Receiving news of her beloved grandmother
's death,
Kimberly (Kay) Turner returns to the beach home on the
Jersey shore where she was raised by her grandmother for the
funeral and to settle her inheritance of the home.
Returning home from a photo shoot in Greece after receiving
the devastating news, she also finds her live-in boyfriend
with another woman. Trust of a man is no longer an option
for Kay.
Kay encounters the dreams of her teen years when she runs
into town to grab some dinner at the fish market. James
Magolis is just as virile and heart arrestingly handsome as
she remembers. As a mere girl her visions of James were
completely unrealistic and secret. Rekindling a friendship
through their joint efforts using her grandmother's recipes,
they soon become more to each other followed by mind
boggling sex. Kay is faced with a once in a lifetime job
offer which will take her away from home for long periods of
time. Unable to believe that James can actually put her
first and be true to her when she is gone, unlike her ex,
she makes a choice to end the relationship with James.
Being a man completely devoted to giving her what will make
her happy, James does not try to change her mind. Both of
them are totally sick at heart without the other, Kay
realizes
that losing it all might have been the answer to giving her
what she really needs.
Once scorned, this lonely woman cannot believe she is
capable of finding that devoted lasting love. I loved the
characters in this story. James is a man made of every
woman's dreams and Kay is the lonely but successful woman
unable to believe she is capable of finding that forever
love. The story line flows well and is amusing as well as
heart wrenching. This tale will be remembered with
nostalgia and a warm and fuzzy feeling. Definitely a must
read written by a very talented author!
Photographer Kay Turner is dealt a double whammy when she
flies home for her grandmother’s funeral to find her
boyfriend with another woman. Now with two losses to mourn,
she retreats to her newly inherited beach house to clear
her head.
Everything at the beach is familiar: the sounds of the
ocean, the scent of her grandmother’s perfume—and the
irresistible smile of James Margolis. The man Kay spent her
adolescence pining for is every bit as charming as she
remembers.
James always thought of Kay as “a nice kid”, but he feels
something very different for the woman she’s become.
Especially when he asks if she’d be willing to part with
some of her grandmother’s recipes for his new restaurant—
and they wind up sharing much more than culinary secrets.
But as their relationship deepens, Kay finds herself caught
between the demands of her dream career as a travel
photographer, and a chance for happiness with the one man
she’s wanted for a lifetime.
Warning: This foodie romance contains sensual scone baking,
