EVIDENCE OF LIFE by Barbara Taylor Sissel is an awesome page turner! It will be very hard for you to put this book down! Abby Bennett has just said goodbye to her husband Nick and their teenage daughter Lindsey. They are off on a camping trip and Abby is excited to have the house to herself and get some quality ME time in!! As they drive away, Abby thinks her life is perfect, her marriage is perfect, until it is all ripped away from her when a huge storm comes through. Nick and Lindsey are presumed dead. No bodies are ever found and it is assumed that their vehicle was washed away. Abby refuses to believe this.

Abby sets out to find them or at least find out what happened to them. She can't believe they are gone. After many many months her friends and family are worried about her. She needs to let it go, accept it for what it is and move on. They want her to declare them dead so she can have closure and go on with her life. That is the last thing she ever plans on doing. Along the way, she finds out that her marriage and life wasn't as perfect as she thought it was. Her husband has been lying to her and what she finds out, just might destroy her.

EVIDENCE OF LIFE is a very quick and easy read. Barbara gets your attention right away and never lets you go. I felt like I was right there with Abby, feeling all of her heartbreaking pain and disbelief. EVIDENCE OF LIFE will make you look at your own life and how quickly it can all be torn away from you. Also, how well do we really know people? Everyone has secrets and sometimes the secrets are best left unsaid. This was my first book by Barbara but it is certainly not the last. Barbara's style of writing kept the suspense very real for me until the very last page! Lots of clues leaves EVIDENCE OF LIFE with a great surprise ending!!

SUMMARY

On the last ordinary day of her life, Abby Bennett feels like the luckiest woman alive. But everyone knows that luck doesn\'t last forever...

As her husband, Nick, and daughter, Lindsey, embark on a weekend camping trip to the Texas Hill Country, Abby looks forward to having some quiet time to herself. She braids Lindsey\'s hair, reminds Nick to drive safely and kisses them both goodbye. For a brief moment, Abby thinks she has it all–a perfect marriage, a perfect life–until a devastating storm rips through the region, and her family vanishes without a trace.

When Nick and Lindsey are presumed dead, lost in the raging waters, Abby refuses to give up hope. Consumed by grief and clinging to her belief that her family is still alive, she sets out to find them. But as disturbing clues begin to surface, Abby realizes that the truth may be far more sinister than she imagined. Soon she finds herself caught in a current of lies that threaten to unhinge her and challenge everything she once believed about her marriage and family.
