Rachel Vasquez didn't know what she wanted to do after
graduating high school, but the job she was offered by
tough little private detective Clayton Guthrie was very
promising. She now has a licensed gun she knows how to use
quite well, thanks to Guthrie's training, but the exciting
jobs she was anticipating aren't coming about. She's sick
of boring surveillance work and considering quitting when
an interesting case comes their way; a case that will take
all of Vasquez and Guthrie's training, expertise and wits
to solve -- as well as survive.
Guthrie is hired by lawyers of an Afghan war veteran, now a
college student, who's accused of killing his fiancée, a
beautiful heiress and fellow student, with a gun belonging
to the vet. His attorneys are sure he's innocent and being
set up by someone for the crime, and Guthrie soon agrees
the man is being framed. But neither he nor Vasquez is
prepared for everything they will uncover, or how far-
reaching its implications, as their investigation in the
case progresses. Pursuing and apprehending the real killer
proves more deadly than ever anticipated.
Debut author Alaric Hunt has a winner in CUTS
THROUGH BONE, a deeply compelling and colorfully gritty
detective thriller with a truly unique pair of private
detectives. Plot development is intense as Hunt ratchets up
the tension to an explosive ending.
