Inspirational Romance
UNDER THE SUMMER SKY is a very well written novel by Lori
Copeland. This book is number 2 in the Dakota Diaries
series. It is the story of Trinity and Jones. Both are
unlikely candidates for a romance as they both want
different things for their lives but both find themselves in
some unlikely and unlucky situations that force them to
think about their early lives and how they have changed
their present lives and attitudes due to earlier life
changing events. Trinity is a woman on a mission to find a deed to property
left by her brother to her. After arriving on the property
she is almost drowned by Jones, plagued by grasshoppers and
left with nothing after thieves raid her cabin. Moving on
she moves to the town where she thinks a relative may be who
can
get her the deed to the property that she wishes to sell
so she can return Sioux Falls. Jones is a railroad employee who meets Trinity and shoves
her in a barrel as he fights with thugs. Not knowing she
cannot swim or has a fear of cramped places he will be in
for some rude awakenings as the barrel goes over the falls.
Happenstance once again brings them together but will they
be able to work together this time or will they remain
indifferent to each other needs?
I liked UNDER THE SUMMER SKY as it was humorous and I was
easily able
to relate to most of the characters.
It is easy to figure out what
is going to happen but readers will still be drawn in by the
characters and the plot. Overall a great read for any
Christian Romance lover!
SUMMARY
This romantic new book from bestselling author Lori
Copeland portrays God’s miraculous provision even when
none seems possible. 1893 A man who goes only by the name of “Jones” isn’t looking
for trouble when he happens across Miss Trinity Franklin
at the riverside. He is simply on his way to North Dakota
to seek the advice of Tom Curtis, a former CN&W Railroad
land purchaser. But when Jones spots a lady who is about
to become the victim of a marauding band of thugs, he
quickly follows his instincts. A handy barrel and a nearby
river seem the perfect getaway solution…how was he to know
she couldn’t swim? Thus begins an adventure beyond what
either could have anticipated. After Jones again rescues
Trinity—this time from the river—they find their
destination is the same: a small town in North Dakota. A
seemingly coincidental beginning comes to a delightful and
charming ending when orchestrated by the One who can put
the pieces of any lost and broken life together.
