In TOMAS: COWBOY HOMECOMING, Marine Staff Sergeant Tomas "Tuf" Hart is finally going home. This Afghanistan veteran had actually been released from duty two years earlier but had been helping a badly injured vet from his unit and himself with PTSD. Arriving home he sees a little redheaded girl walking along the ditch in a heavy purple coat and is curious where she could have come from. He finds out the little girl Sadie and her twin Sammie belong to Cheyenne Wright Sundell, his old flame. Well not really flame because she had always refused to go out with him. It had a lot to do with their fathers not getting along, but his heart still flutters ten years later.
The last thing Cheyenne needs is for Tuf to come back and stir up the old feelings she has for him. The family "feud" is long over with her brother Austin married to Dinah Hart, but what good will that do her? Her former marine husband had suffered horrific PTSD and ended up killing himself, Sadie was continually running away and Sammie was very clingy, she has more than enough on her small plate without adding her past crush.
Tuf comes home to a family in turmoil. They are in need of an influx of money to get out of debt and the Hart family is rallying for the homestead. They have a fantastic bucking horse that they plan to use at the rodeos as well as the boys who will travel and ride bringing home the prize money to save the ranch. He finds so much has changed and so much hasn't. The biggest change is in him, he is grown up but there is one dream from his childhood he does not want to give up. Cheyenne. Can he let go of the war or will it come between him and the happiness he can find with a love he never gave up on?
TOMAS: COWBOY HOMECOMING will have you crying, laughing, sighing and thrilled at the happy ending. The characters are down to earth and the circumstances they find themselves in are so real that everyone who reads it will know someone who went through the same things. The way the family and the two lovers work through the PTSD problem is at times frustrating but very understandable given both characters circumstances. This is the final book of the Harts of the Rodeo continuity series and the only one written by Linda Warren. If you are looking for a series with family at the forefront, sweet romance and laughter this series will give it to you.
