DEMON'S CURSE finds Capt. Mac Flannery suffering under a
curse that has been handed to him and the other members of
his military unit just before Waterloo. As a member of the
shape-shifting Imnada who live as recluses, this particular
curse has gotten them banished from their own kind. At
night they must shift and stay in their animal form, only
returning as men in the light of day.
Bianca Parrino, who has forged a life for herself out of
the grasp of a abusive husband, has befriended Adam, one of
the unit and an Imnada. She has no idea who or what he is
nor that he has been the one who had brought the curse down
on his friends and is working on a possible cure, but the
revenge of the "Other" who survived the massacre of family
members found him first. Mourning her friend, she is soon
involved with Mac and working for his cause to be free of
the curse.
Though he is falling fast for the beautiful actress he
holds back. There is no future for he and others of his
unit are considered rogues and have been lucky that the
leaders of the Imnada have not sent out enforcers. What
life can he offer her? Why would she choose to be with him
when there is no future?
DEMON'S CURSE is the first the Imnada Brotherhood
Series.
It is an interesting look at the paranormal in a historical
setting. The story is filled with deep emotions, handsome
devils that have honor and a woman who was not going to
give up on life no matter what it hands her. I did find
parts that dragged a little and were a little confusing but
it was a very good paranormal love story. The author
[Alexa Egan] has the building blocks of an amazing new
series, with a number of characters that need a story of
their own.
