Neuroscientist Dr. Catherine Young has always been different, which is why she finds herself stranded while trying to find and warn Tom McEnroe (Mac), a man she's never met.

Mac's team is wanted by just about all law enforcement, leaving them no choice but to disappear. Together they have built a city within a cavern on a deserted mountaintop. Their compound is a mixed bag of people who have formed a bond with one another and Mac won't allow anyone or anything to harm his family.

Mac rescues Catherine and learns she is a psychic who was sent by the man believes betrayed the team. That man and many others are being used as guinea pigs in a lab owned by the company Catherine works for.

Even knowing something is wrong at her job Catherine still intends to return until Mac shows her what they have done to her home. She can't return to work and Mac doesn't trust her which makes Catherine wonder what's going to happen next. What she would prefer is for Mac to take her to bed. Mac knows he is no prize, his ugly mug would scare any woman away yet Catherine is not afraid of him.

He would like nothing better than removing her from his mountaintop but he can't trust her not to reveal their location. Once everyone accepts Catherine Mac no longer has a reason for staying out of her bed and before more time passes their passion erupts leaving both wondering if what they feel is real.

One of Catherine's visions shows her the men in the lab are in danger. Against his better judgment Mac decides to rescue the man he hates but he has a bigger problem, Catherine refuses to stay behind leaving him fearful of losing the woman he has come to love.

HEART OF DANGER is aA beautiful love story built around the ultimate hero and the perfect heroine, strong, smart and not afraid to go after what she wants. Mac has a heart of gold but shows nothing but stoicism on the outside. I enjoyed how Catherine loosened Mac up, she knew from their first meeting the type of man she was falling for and was willing to do whatever was necessary to let him know she accepted him just as he was.

HEART OF DANGER moves at a rapid pace delivering an equal mix of romance, action and suspense with an interesting array of diverse characters.
