Romance Contemporary

Micah Sloane a former Mossad agent became an assassin to catch the man who murdered his mother and caused the death of his father, a former CIA agent. Micah joined the Elite Ops in order to accomplish his goal.

His latest assignment is to get Risa Clay to accept him as her lover since the man he's after has been hired to kill her. Risa was once held captive and raped with her father's permission by a man she can't remember. They kept her full of drugs but lately memories are resurfacing and she wants to put the past behind her hence her decision to take a lover.

She never counted on someone like Micah. After being told all of her life how ugly she is, it's no wonder that it is hard for her to believe Micah could be attracted to her. Although Micah's agenda is personal there is no way he cannot have Risa, she brings out feeling he thought were dead yet he will not give up his vengeance for any reason.

Having been lied to by those she trusted Risa nevertheless finds herself unable to resist the heat building between them. With a trained cold hearted killer on their trail these two burn up the sheets and though there is more than sex between them it might be impossible for them to forget the past in order to have a future together.

This reprint is just as good the second time around. Ms. Leigh's signature love scenes are hot enough to send her readers looking for some release of their own. The added benefit of familiar faces kept me riveted to the pages as I wondered if there would be a happily ever after for these two tortured individuals who have experienced more pain than the average person should have to. You'll cry as Risa relives her past and root for Micah as he helps heal her wounds.

SUMMARY

Micah Sloane knows almost everything there is to know about Risa Clay, including the vicious betrayal she endured years ago and the distrust she’s harbored ever since. The only way for the Elite Ops agent to uncover an assassinβ€”and banish the ghosts of his own dark pastβ€”is to use Risa as bait. But nothing has prepared him for her disarming blend of innocence and sensuality, or for his overwhelming need to protect her… Risa has spent six years rebuilding her life. And now, to save it, she must pose as Micah’s lover and draw a killer into the open. It’s a risky planβ€”especially with a man as powerfully seductive as Micah. But, as their charade becomes reality, Risa realizes the greatest danger may lie in losing her heart forever…
