FBI special agent Kathryn Hunter fought hard to become a female sniper. She loves her job and would never think of taking vacation time but her brother has gone missing. Using her credentials may not be the wisest thing to do but when it comes to your loves ones you will do whatever it takes even meeting with vampires.
Kathryn's brother was last seen at a vampire bar and the head vampire is her first stop. Lucas Donlon, Vampire Lord of the Plains territory answers to no one, especially a human.
Unfortunately war has just been declared between him and his arch enemy and doesn't need the FBI nosing around. A war between Vampire Lord's is not anything a human should experience. One meeting and he'll be rid of her, that is until he meets the feisty agent then he just wants her in his bed. Kathryn has no intentions of meekly allowing Lucas to investigate while she sit on the sidelines nor will she willingly fall into bed with him no matter what her body is telling her.
When Lucas is challenged by his enemy he must leave Kathryn and insists she wait until his return before continuing the investigation. Of course she doesn't follow orders but Kathryn does not need too much rescuing and realizes that resisting Lucas is ridiculous and all too soon these two are tearing up the sheets.
Kathryn is not a sideline female and unless Lucas can accept she can help in his war they have no future together. FBI Agent vs Vampire Lord, if you are not familiar with Ms. Reynolds vampire series, LUCAS is a good beginning. Lucas is the type of otherworldly creature I love, alpha to the core and not afraid of embracing his vampirism and all that it involves. He marks his territory with deadly intent and this charming bad boy whose dangerousness clings to him will keep you turning the pages rapidly.
With each book in the series the stories and the characters are truly memorable. I eagerly await the next saga of Vampires in America. LUCAS is fraught with excitement, action packed scenes, tough characters, and a fiery love story. It is not for the faint of heart but for those who like their women strong and their men even stronger LUCAS is well worth buying.
